Privacy policy

PEJOS Lucky Limited (“PEJOS”, “we”, “us”) runs this website so you can browse our catalogue, request quotations and open a trade account. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We handle your information in line with Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019.

What we collect

Trade account registration — your name, company name, email address and phone number, and a password. Passwords are stored in a scrambled (hashed) form that we cannot read.
Quote requests — your name, email address, phone number, KRA PIN if you give one, the products and quantities you ask about, and any notes you add.
BOQ uploads — when you upload a Bill of Quantities we read the item list out of the file so we can match it to our products. We do not keep the file itself; the item list becomes part of your quote request.
Contact form messages — your name, email address, phone number and company if you give them, and your message.

We do not collect payment card details through this website.

How we use it

To prepare and send you quotations, and to follow up on them.
To review and manage trade accounts, including the pricing tier we offer you.
To reply to your questions and messages.
To send account emails, such as confirming your email address or resetting your password.
To keep the business records the law requires of us, including tax records.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share it with

Your information is used within PEJOS by staff who need it to serve you. We only share it outside PEJOS:

with the service providers that help us run the website and send our emails, only for that purpose;
when the law requires it, for example with the Kenya Revenue Authority.

If you contact us on WhatsApp through a link on this site, that conversation is also subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy policy. The site loads its typeface from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers.

Cookies

We only use the cookies the website needs to work: one that keeps you signed in to your account, and security cookies that protect our forms. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep account and quotation records while your account is active or while we are dealing with your enquiry. Records linked to a sale are kept for as long as Kenyan tax law requires (currently at least five years). Contact form messages are kept only as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you have the right to:

be told how we use your personal information;
ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
ask us to delete information we no longer need, or object to how we use it.

To make any of these requests, contact us using the details below. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (odpc.go.ke).

Keeping it safe

The website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, passwords are hashed, and only authorised staff can see customer records. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update it on this page and change the date at the top.
